The Salt Lake Chamber has named RAY PICKUP as the 104th person to serve as chairman of the Board of Governors. Pickup, president and CEO of Workers Compensation Fund (WCF) will serve a one-year term beginning July 1, 2013. In his role with WCF, Pickup oversees providing insurance to more than 20,000 Utah companies.
RE/MAX First Realty appointed JOHN AMES to the Zillow Agent Advisory Board. Zillow, Inc., a leading real estate information marketplace, announced the formation of the Zillow Agent Advisory Board to provide the company with feedback on current and future features, products and services for the real estate industry. The board will regularly meet with Zillow's partner relations team. With more than 16 states being represented the board should be able to provide a wide spectrum of market information to Zillow and they will be able to tailor their business accordingly.
Sera Prognostics, Inc. appointed SHERREE FRAZIER as vice president of Sales and Marketing. Frazier will lead the commercial activities of the organization, including the development and launch of ProNid, Sera’s novel diagnostic test to predict preterm birth risk. Previously Frazier served as senior director of Molecular Diagnostics and head of North American Clinical Sales at QIAGEN, Inc. She has extensive experience in the Women’s Health field, serving in a number of key leadership capacities including sales, marketing and business development. Prior to QIAGEN, Frazier served as Women’s Health Manager at Adeza Biomedical, where she focused on demand creation for the company’s preterm delivery test prior to Adeza’s acquisition by Cytyc Corporation in 2007.
BETHANY OGLESBY, floral specialist for Smith’s Food & Drug Stores and MARSHA GILFORD, vice president of public affairs, have been selected as “Top Women in Grocery” by Progressive Grocer magazine for 2012. The 204 finalists were selected from hundreds of nominations of women who demonstrate outstanding leadership, wield influence and show strong involvement in the community. Oglesby and Gilford are two of 41 Kroger employees selected to be among the finalists to receive this recognition.
Columbus Community Center dedicated a 4,200 square-foot multi-purpose room at its central campus located at 3495 South West Temple to retiring executive director DEAN HOFFMAN. Hoffman is retiring after working four decades in the vocational rehabilitation field and serving 14 years as Columbus Community Center’s executive director. The multi-purpose room is a major addition to the Columbus campus where the center already provides vocational, residential, and day activity programs for 350 adults with disabilities.
Schiff Nutrition International, Inc. appointed RICHARD F. BARUCH JR. to the new position of senior vice president – chief commercial officer. Baruch most recently served as vice president – Category Advisory Services at Coca-Cola where he led an initiative to build a new organization and bring a new set of capabilities to Coca-Cola’s North American business. Prior to that, Baruch was president and chief operating officer of Cotn’Wash, Inc. where he led the national launch of Dropps laundry detergent and grew overall top-line revenue by over 300 percent over two years.
MICHAEL J. SHEETS has joined the Schmitt, Griffiths, Smith & Co. (SGS) firm as a QuickBooks Senior accountant. Sheets has 13 years of accounting experience and specializes in QuickBooks and other accounting software applications. He earned his masters of accounting degree at Westminster College. SGS has been in business for 37 years providing professional services ranging from accounting, tax, audit and consulting to technology software and network solutions.
TRACY SYMES was hired as benefits account manager at The Presidio Group, Inc. Symes previously worked at ABSi. In her new position she will work with the individual market and transition into small group sales.
