Forbes Travel Guide unveiled its 55th annual listing of Star Award-winning hospitality establishments worldwide, and named Waldorf Astoria Park City, Slopes restaurant and Golden Door Spa to the list. The hotel, restaurant and spa, located at the base of Canyons Resort, will be showcased with the 2013 award winners on Startle.com, the online home of Forbes Travel Guide.
“We are deeply honored and proud to be recognized in three separate categories by Forbes Travel Guide,” said Kerry Hing, general manager of Waldorf Astoria Park City. “This is a true testament to our team members’ dedication and passion for delivering unparalleled customer service to hotel guests, and we are excited to continue to offer remarkable hospitality experiences in the coming year.”
Waldorf Astoria Park City is a luxury mountain hotel with a variety of year-round seasonal activities. Accommodations are appointed with custom furnishings and provide views of the ski slopes and picturesque Wasatch Mountains. Its residences also include kitchens outfitted with Viking appliances. Waldorf Astoria Park City also features intimate meeting space as well as an expansive outdoor patio with fire pits and a heated pool and Jacuzzis. Waldorf Astoria Park City opened in 2009 as part of a $50-million transformation of Canyons Resort.
Slopes, Waldorf Astoria Park City’s fine dining restaurant, offers modern mountain cuisine. Led by executive chef Clement Gelas, the dishes and ingredients draw inspiration from the surrounding Wasatch Mountains to bring elements of nature into the restaurant by sourcing and foraging for local ingredients from the nearby mountain and serving dishes on natural stone and wood.
Integral to the guest experience at Waldorf Astoria Park City is its 16,000-square-foot Golden Door Spa, which is one of only three Golden Door Spas in the world. The facility includes 15 treatment rooms, a full-service hair and nail salon. Additionally the spa features Trevor Cates, an onsite naturopathic physician.
