Orem — One Eighty, parent company of Leisure Care retirement communities, will celebrate the recent groundbreaking of its new community in Orem, Utah on Thursday, July 18. Construction is underway, with a targeted opening date of April 2014.
Located in the heart of Orem at 250 E. Center Street, the new 143-unit community is designed to give independent seniors an option that provides services and conveniences not found at home, while recognizing that residents want to remain engaged in an active lifestyle.
“We are developing an independent community that is much more than just an apartment, but still affords the freedom for residents to live their lives on their own terms,” said Dan Madsen, chairman and CEO of Leisure Care. “We envision this community to be a hub of activity where people gather, socialize, and interact throughout the day.”
Studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments will range in size from about 450 to 850 square feet, equipped with high quality finishes, full kitchens, washers and dryers, and outside balconies on many apartments.
A full range of services will be available to residents including a restaurant, pub and smoothie bar, bistro, travel and car-share programs, as well as fitness and memory programs.
The project team includes Johnson Braund Architects and Sahara Construction.
