Station Park Brings Transit-oriented Development to Davis County

By Tom Haraldsen

August 9, 2013

“I personally have been working in Utah on various projects for over 30 years and am currently a partner in the Jordan Landing shopping center in West Jordan,” he says. “We are currently evaluating new projects along the Wasatch Front, and hope to bring some of our new retail technology to other communities in the area.”

The Elements of Success

The shopping component is really the nucleus of what Station Park aspires to be—a combination of retail, office and residential. In the winter, there’s a skating rink. In warm summer months, a fountain adorns some of the open space in the center. Bruning says that by this Christmas, Station Park will be close to completion, with only one major building still under construction that will open spring of 2014. He says the project should be fully leased by that time.

“With Front Runner making Station Park its second stop north of Salt Lake City, we anticipate much more growth will occur,” Sulser says, adding that “both current and future generations will want to live near where they work, maybe not have to own a second vehicle for commuting. This is destined to become the largest mixed-use development in Davis County. I think it has all the elements of success.”

“When I think of the past few months of operation at Station Park, my first thought is the number of happy and surprised visitors I’ve met. Many people, touring our site, said they never expected to have a project of such high quality in their neighborhood,” Bruning says. “We are thrilled to have become a part of the greater Farmington community, and we are looking forward to being good neighbors for many years to come.”
