Net Nanny announced that Net Nanny for Android smartphones and tablets is now available on the Net Nanny website and Android Market, and will soon be available from other popular Android marketplaces including Amazon Appstore, GetJar, and AppsLib.
Net Nanny for Android provides the ultimate parental peace of mind. The Net Nanny app is a custom-protected browser, offering 18 categories of content to block or warn, profanity masking and circumvention prevention. Parents manage and monitor their kids’ activities from a web-based console.
With mobile Internet surfing surpassing PC surfing, and with kids spending up to 7.5 hours a day online, parents are increasingly aware of the importance of protecting their kids online.
Unlike other filters, Net Nanny uses dynamic contextual analysis to examine text on each new page to categorize and block or allow it—in real-time. With roughly 150,000 new URLs each day, real-time filtering provides assurance that list-based filters cannot. Net Nanny also ensures kids can't get around the app’s protection features: it blocks other browsers from opening and requires adult password credentials to uninstall.
“Many new apps have been released to help families monitor their kids’ online activities,” said Russ Warner, CEO of ContentWatch, maker of Net Nanny. “Unfortunately none of them provide the level of protection that’s needed for parental peace of mind. Unless a filter can view all web data and prevent the use of other browsers, parents can’t be assured of their kids’ online safety.”
Net Nanny for Android is available for an annual subscription of $19.99 for the first device, and $9.98 for each additional device. Net Nanny will release its iPhone, iPad and iPod solution in Q2.
Future versions of Net Nanny will include SMS logging and blocking, application management and detailed reporting. Net Nanny also plans to integrate its entire suite of products on the same platform, allowing a family to manage all of their desktop and mobile devices from one console.
Net Nanny is the leading provider of Internet parental control solutions for consumers. With the proliferation of mobile devices, Net Nanny’s mission is to expand its suite of solutions from desktop computers to include all mobile devices.www.netnanny.com&esheet=50186634&lan=en-US&anchor=www.netnanny.com&index=7&md5=2c3df8eb11106e2f709c4396143a11c5"> www.netnanny.com
