Salt Lake City — Sugarhouse resident Spencer Hackett, 24, has created HAKS, a line of backpacks. To start manufacturing, Hackett has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $25,000 by November 13. In the model of Tom’s shoes, HAKS plans to donate a backpack full of school supplies to a child in need for every backpack sold.
“My goal for HAKS is to not only provide people with a cool unique backpack but for them to know they helped someone in need,” Hackett said.
HAKS plans to offer a full line of backpacks, including three sizes with an assortment of interior and exterior color options if it receives enough funding to meet its $25,000 goal by Nov. 13. HAKS stands for Help A Kid Somewhere. For more information, visit http://www.haksbackpacks.com/">www.haksbackpacks.com.
