Mountain Medical Physician Specialists, a radiology and vascular surgery practice in Utah, recently launched its 38-foot state-of-the-art digital mobile mammography coach to bring early breast cancer detection directly to the patient.
Mountain Medical’s mobile mammography coach is available to travel to companies and organizations, allowing employers and community leaders to facilitate an important medical screening for their employees. The service benefits employees by simplifying the time constraints women face when balancing their healthcare needs. Screenings provided to insured patients will be billed to the individual’s insurance company.
“Utah ranks last in the nation for the number of insured women 40 years or older who receive annual mammograms, so there is a significant need to provide more education as well as more convenient options for women to receive this important screening,” said Dr. Cathy Babcook, a Mountain Medical radiologist specializing in women’s imaging.
Mammography is the only screening method that has been consistently proven to reduce breast cancer deaths. Breast cancer starts out small and without any symptoms, so women have no way of knowing it is there. Studies show that breast cancer is 98 percent curable when it is diagnosed early, which is why screening mammograms are vital to women’s health.
“Women today have very busy lives and it can be difficult to take time away from work, so we have designed our mobile mammography service to provide quality, comfortable and convenient screenings directly at their workplace in 30 minutes or less,” continued Babcook.
Mountain Medical’s mobile mammography coach is accredited by the American College of Radiology and certified by the FDA. Mammograms are carefully evaluated by a board-certified radiologist who specializes in breast imaging. In addition to providing state-of-the-art imaging, Mountain Medical strives to keep its healthcare services affordable for its patients.
