Informational Calls

Finally, it is important to note that the revised rules do not apply to autodialed or prerecorded non-telemarketing calls. These include calls by or on behalf of tax-exempt nonprofit organizations, calls for political purposes and calls for other noncommercial purposes, including those that deliver purely informational messages such as school closings. To comply with the TCPA, such calls continue to require either written or oral consent if made to wireless consumers, but no prior consent if made to residential consumers.
