Kaddas Enterprises, Inc. Receives Accreditation from Mexico Utility

Press Release

June 16, 2014

Salt Lake City – Kaddas Enterprises, a thermoform plastic manufacturer, announced it has received a sales accreditation from Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), the Mexico electrical utility which is the exclusive provider of electricity in Mexico.

The accreditation will allow Kaddas to sell exclusively to the entire country of Mexico as a pre-approved supplier. This is a requirement for any manufacturer supplying products for use with CFE equipment.

The Design and Development teams at Kaddas Enterprises have been working very closely with the linemen and engineers at CFE and their local distributor, Powertrusion de Mexico, to develop a BirdguarD product to prevent power outages on transmission lines caused by migratory birds.

The unique BirdguarD design has a “locking pin” to secure the part in place, and the snapfit feature allows for easy installation without having to de-energize the line.

“This is a priority for CFE to avoid power interruptions during installation,” said Humberto Penaloza Flores of Powertrusion de Mexico.

Kaddas Enterprises underwent a thorough audit with El Laboratorio de Pruebas Equipos y Materiales (LAPEM), the Laboratory for Equipment and Materials testing for CFE, in February as part of their accreditation process and met all of the requirements.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to expand our global product reach,” said Natalie Kaddas, general manager of Kaddas Enterprises. “Last year our international sales grew by 900 percent. We are energized to continue growing internationally.”

Kaddas Enterprises recently visited Mexico City and Guadalajara as part of the trade mission led by Gov. Gary R. Herbert and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) International Trade and Diplomacy Office. The trade mission provided opportunities and credibility to strengthen partnerships with CFE and other potential customers.
