The National Ready Mix Concrete Association (NRMCA) honored Jack B. Parson Companies (JBP), one of the state’s largest aggregate, ready mix concrete, asphalt, paving and construction materials suppliers, with the Producer Excellence in Quality award for the second consecutive year. The award was presented at the NRMCA’s 2012 ConcreteWorks and Board of Director’s Meeting in National Harbor, Md. on Sept. 17.
According to the NRMCA, the Producer Excellence in Quality award criteria were established by its Research Engineering and Standards Committee to recognize quality initiatives of its member companies.
To qualify for the award, critiqued companies must demonstrate outstanding performance in seven areas, including customer focus and materials management and testing. Companies are recognized in three categories ranging from production of less than 250,000 cubic yards and greater than 1 million cubic yards. JBP won in the largest producer category.
Scott Parson, president and CEO, stated, “For the past sixty years, we’ve worked hard to offer the best quality concrete coupled with outstanding delivery and service. This is made possible because of our outstanding employees and customers.”
JBP continues its outreach program, Rocks Build Our World, which teaches fourth graders about rocks and mining. In 2012, the company wrapped four of its mixers with graphics supporting the Utah National Guard. “We manufacture quality products used in projects to build strong foundations,” Parson said. “We also recognize the importance of forming partnerships to strengthen the foundations of the communities in which we operate.”
