Murray – A new employee clinic for Intermountain employees and their families who work in the Murray area has opened on the Intermountain Medical Center campus.
The Intermountain Employee Clinic will function like an urgent and primary care clinic, and will exclusively serve employees and their families. The employee clinic will provide care for short-term, acute problems such as colds, sore throat, skin infections, rashes, sprains, and minor injuries; basic management of chronic diseases — such as asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and under-active thyroid — in cooperation with their physician; and preventive care, including physicals and immunizations.
“The idea is that when care is more convenient for our employees and their families, it’s easier for them to take personal responsibility for their health," says Michael Pellew, who manages the clinic. “The clinic will be a convenient resource for immediate care for non-work related issues. If our employees have a primary care physician, we can work with him or her to help manage chronic conditions.”
The clinic is open to all employees and their families who work at Intermountain Medical Center, TOSH – The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital, SelectHealth, the Employee Services Center or any other area Intermountain facility or Medical Group clinic in the central Salt Lake Valley area. The clinic is located on the first floor of Intermountain Medical Center’s South Office Building.
