Utah companies and members of the business, technology and academic communities gathered for the 10th annual Utah Innovation Awards program at the Salt Lake City Marriott Center on Tuesday. The event was presented by Stoel Rives LLP and the Utah Technology Council and had more than 300 attendees.
Kevin Laurence, founder of the innovation awards and Stoel Rives partner, said, “It’s been wonderful to see the community participate the way that it has. When we first dreamt up the innovation awards, we started it as a way to help companies to have third-party validation for their innovations.”
Guest speaker Sen. Orrin G. Hatch commented on the creativity and dedication of the companies being honored. “Some of the most innovative, creative and brightest people that I’ve come across are in Utah leading our companies, inventing new products and endorsing new technology to survive in our state and compete globally,” Hatch said.
The winner of the Computer Hardware/Electrical Devices category was Holorad LLC.
Daniel Burman, CEO and president of Holorad, said, “There is truly a lot of innovation going on in the state of Utah and we are proud to be included amongst these. We have had tremendous support. We are very excited to be building our company right here in the state of Utah.”
