Industrial Supply Company (www.indsupply.com), privately held distributors of safety and personal protection equipment for the mining industry, announced the opening of a new distribution center in Elko, Nevada. The company joined forces with local company 3R Distributors in October 2012 as part of its efforts to better serve the Northern Nevada region. The new location will house a wide selection of maintenance, repair, operating and production (MROP) supplies for local mining, construction and ranching industries and will greatly reduce delivery times to its customers in the area. This will be Industrial Supply’s seventh store, joining other locations in Utah, Nevada and Wyoming.
“We knew that if we wanted to grow our business, we had to become a true local provider,” said Randy Evans, Industrial Supply’s president of construction, safety and mining. “We felt like we needed to find a team of local people and a building that we could use to stock inventory and still have room for expansion.”
The distribution center currently employs three people, but Industrial Supply has plans to expand the facility and hire more people as the company continues to grow.
“Industrial Supply and Elko go together like milk and cookies,” said Erica Rockwell, who will oversee sales at the new facility. “Industrial has about anything and everything the mines or contractors would need to be efficient and perform their jobs in a timely and productive manner.”
Dustin Rockwell, who has been named manager of the Northern Nevada region, is looking forward to Industrial Supply’s new role in the community.
“They care about the people they serve. That’s what was missing with other suppliers in the area. They sell hard hats and mining equipment, but they just don’t care about and serve the community the way Industrial does,” said Rockwell. “Once Industrial Supply is part of a community, they sink their teeth into it.”
