Seattle-based HomeStreet Bank has opened its first stand-alone residential construction lending center in Salt Lake City, its first physical location in Utah.
Wayne Wagstaff has joined HomeStreet as vice president and residential construction relationship manager; David Griffin has joined the company as residential construction underwriter. Both Wagstaff and Griffin have more than 20 years of experience in construction lending in the Wasatch Front.
"Salt Lake City enjoys a strong economy, with low unemployment and a robust real estate market," said Jeff Todhunter, HomeStreet senior vice president and residential construction lending director. "By expanding to the Wasatch Front, it allows us to bring our strong homebuilder finance competency to a market that has many good local homebuilders and strong demand for new homes."
