Heber Valley Medical Center has opened its new dialysis center, with a ribbon-cutting and open house on March 28.
“This is a project that we have been working toward for quite some time,” said Shawn Morrow, Heber Valley’s administrator. “It is rewarding for myself and the team at Heber Valley to be at the point where we are ready to begin seeing patients.”
The unit is the first dialysis center in the Wasatch Back and will serve both Wasatch and Summit Counties, allowing patients in kidney failure to receive treatment close to home. It began treating patients March 31.
This new dialysis center is part of and will be managed by Heber Valley Medical Center — but Intermountain Healthcare’s Dialysis experts have provided oversight and direction in the planning process.
The center’s open house included a patient and family open house, a community open house for physicians, patients, donors, a ribbon cutting, unveiling of the donor wall and tours of the unit.
