Grow America Announces Fall Competition Winners

GrowAmerica, an organization founded by entrepreneur, author and philanthropist Alan E. Hall, has selected and announced the winners of $250,000 in cash and awards at the Utah Fall Springboard competition event. With the help of celebrity judges Fraser Bullock, Amy Rees Anderson and Will West, together with audience voting, Grow America has selected and announced the following winners at the Utah Salt Palace Final Pitch competition event:

Growth Category:

• 1st Place: Crio, Inc. - $100,000
• 2nd Place: Contact Point - $50,000
• 3rd Place: Kisstix - $20,000
• Crowd Vote: Crio bru - $10,500

Start-up Category:

• 1st Place: Jigabot - $25,000
• 2nd Place: Active Alarm - $15,000
• 3rd Place: Spider Tie - $5,000              
• Crowd Vote: Jigabot - $3,500

Idea Category:

• 1st Place: Pop Alcorn - $10,000
• 2nd Place: Grass Wire - $7,500
• 3rd Place: Doctor Board - $3,500

At the event, founder Alan Hall announced that Grow America will now expand its competitions entirely online via an expanded online platform. The web format will use the strength of the Internet and a newer and stronger social media platform to facilitate mentoring and community input to participating entrepreneurs.

“Our two live competition events, the Utah Spring event and the Utah Fall event just completed on November 1 have been a spectacular way to unveil Grow America and its mission and goals to the world,” said Mark Hurst, of Connect Partners. “We thank everyone involved—our partners, our team members and most especially the regional entrepreneurial community—for making our Utah launch of this national and international organization such a resounding success.”

Grow America’s online program is open and available now, and is currently offering competitions and prizes at www.growam.com. The company will also make further announcements as it migrates in the coming 1-2 months to a more robust platform that will allow the program to readily expand nationwide.
