When it comes to camping, not everyone is a fan of roughing it. But glamorous camping, or glamping as it’s more commonly known, is one way to enjoy nature without sacrificing the comforts of home. Fortunately, Utah is home to several places where residents can give glamping a try.
MOAB UNDER CANVAS
Moab Under Canvas is located on 40 acres just moments away from the entrance to both Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. Glampers can stay in accommodations ranging from a teepee tent equipped with padded camping cots, safari chairs, a small table and a lantern, to a suite with its own private ensuite bathroom, a bedroom wing with a king-size bed, a lounge area with a sofa bed, and a wood burning stove. The bathrooms boast hot running water, showers, flushing toilets, ceramic sinks and spa products. Each bathroom is an individual unit for privacy.

SUMMIT MOUNTAIN LODGE AND RESORT
The Summit Mountain Lodge and Resort sits on 70 acres of scenic mountain and woodland terrain near Brian Head. The resort has 14 yurts, each with its own theme, such as a Harley Davidson-themed yurt, a honeymoon-themed yurt and an Audrey Hepburn-themed yurt. Each yurt is heated, wired for electricity and phone service, and is Wi-Fi ready. The yurts also each feature a small mini-bar, and some of them have private baths. The other yurts share a large bath house, designed with privacy in mind.

SHOOTING STAR RV RESORT
The Shooting Star RV Resort is located right off Scenic Byway 12 near Escalante, which makes it a great jumping off point for visits to multiple national and state parks in Southern Utah.
The resort has eight Airstream trailers with décor straight from the movie set of films like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Some Like It Hot, Viva Las Vegas and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Each Airstream features a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and luxurious sheets, comforters and down pillows. The resort, which is also open to personal RVs and campers, boasts large pull-through sites with full hook-ups as well as many secluded sites surrounded by oak and sage brush for more privacy. Shooting Star is home to a classic outdoor movie theater featuring 1960s convertibles as seats as well as open space for lawn chairs and picnic blankets. A snack shack provides hot buttered popcorn, cold soda pop and other movie treats.
