Salt Lake City — Gardiner-Smith Laboratories, a privately owned Utah company, has acquired Animal Reference Pathology, a division of ARUP Laboratories at the University of Utah.
Chief executive & medical officer David W. Gardiner said the new company will retain the name of Animal Reference Pathology and that headquarters will remain in the Salt Lake area. Gardiner anticipates a move from the University of Utah location to a new location within six months.
“We are happy to report that many of the Animal Reference Pathology staff, including Dr. Sharon Wilson and Dr. Lawrence McGill, who will serve as medical director, will remain with us,” Gardiner said.
“The board of directors has been involved since the very inception of Gardiner-Smith Laboratories and will continue to provide guidance and vision,” said president and chief operating officer Everett Smith. “We have added additional professional staff, significantly strengthened our business management division, and plan to update both facilities and equipment.”
