Celebrating Utah’s Rising Stars

The Lotus, a luxury apartment project in Downtown Salt Lake, reached the highest rental rate and fastest lease-up in downtown history and was awarded Most Outstanding Project by Utah Construction and Design. Lotus Equities also has seven other Wasatch Front projects in the works.

“Bryan is a leader not because he wants to be a leader, but because he just keeps moving forward, giving others the option to either step up and join him or go another way,” says Mark Jensen, investment specialist at Newmark Grubb ACRES. “But everyone steps up and joins him. People want to be a part of what Bryan is doing.”

Holly M. Yocom | Executive Director, Utah Film Center

Before coming to the Utah Film Center, Holly Yocom was an assistant vice president at Zions Bancorporation for eights years, and she says leaving Zions to join the film center was “one of the most exciting, but challenging things I have ever done. Stepping into this role has taught me to be nimble and innovative, but has also given me the opportunity to grow and hone my leadership, management and business skills.”

Through her capable leadership, the Utah Film Center increased the number of its yearly screenings from 175 to more than 240, and attendance grew from 23,000 to nearly 39,500. In addition, Yocom manages the center’s Fiscal Sponsorship program, which helps finance films from across the country. This program grew from $1.25 million in fiscal year 2012 to $3.41 million in fiscal year 2013.

Yocom currently serves on the Planned Parenthood of Utah board of directors, and she is a member of the Utah Women’s Forum.
