Utah’s fastest growing companies “have demonstrated an irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit,” said Chris Hill, Kirton McConkie vice president.
Utah Business magazine honored their Fast 50 and Emerging 8 companies at a luncheon Wednesday. The Fast 50 are ranked using a combination of revenue growth and total revenue, while the Emerging 8 are selected using the same criteria, but have not been in business at least five years.
Tyler Dabo, Utah Business publisher, said it’s important to recognize the success and leadership these companies bring to Utah. The 58 companies had combined total revenue of more than $7.3 billion, and are the companies hiring more people while many are still struggling.
Most companies attributed their success to good employees and hard work at something they love. “So long as you follow your heart, then success always comes,” said Matthew Pineda, president of Castle & Cooke Mortgage.
Packsize International CEO Hanko Kiessner said it’s exciting to have such large growth and to begin to move the company from the entrepreneurial stage to the growth stage.
Overall companies across the country wish they were seeing the success and growth of the companies honored, said MC Keith McCord, master of ceremonies and KSL News anchor.
The Fast 50 and Emerging 8 will be in the September issue of Utah Business magazine.
