Comcast has launched a wi-fi service along the Wasatch Front.
As part of its wi-fi rollout, Comcast has installed and activated more than 900 Xfinity wi-fi hotspots in Ogden, Salt Lake City, Provo and other cities along the Wasatch Front. The locations include spots such as the Temple Square neighborhood, University Mall in Orem and downtown Sugar House, with plans to add more hotspots in more areas on an ongoing basis.
“People use the internet on the go all the time, but mobile data plans are increasingly limited and can be expensive,” said Kyle McSlarrow, Comcast regional vice president.
Xfinity internet customers can search for “xfinitywifi” or “CableWiFi” on the list of available networks and follow prompts to begin their wi-fi sessions. They can also use the Xfinity wi-fi app, available for iOS and Android devices, to locate Xfinity wi-fi hotspots nationwide. Non-Xfinity Internet customers can access Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots for up to two, one-hour-long sessions every 30 days.
