Tony Schnurr, president and chief operating office of the Larry H. Miller Automotive Group of Companies announced that Chevrolet Murray held a grand opening celebration on Thursday, February 2. The dealership is located at 5500 South State Street in Murray, Utah.
Alan Batey, vice president, Chevrolet Sales and Service, General Motors Corporation made a special appearance at the event. Batey began his career with General Motors in 1979 and has held senior positions for the company in more than seven countries.
“I am pleased that we are holding an official grand opening ceremony for this state-of-the-art Chevy dealership,” said Schnurr. “Having Alan join us for this celebration highlights the fact that our Murray dealership was the first design of its kind in the country.”
Both the company and General Motors worked together to design the store which first opened to the public in June 2010. This location was the prototype property for General Motors which then rolled out the design across the country. Design features include a customer friendly layout making various departments easy to access, comfortable waiting areas with free wireless service, a children’s play area, and educational kiosks where customers can learn more about car accessories and model features.
