The last key to Christopherson Business Travel’s success is to share the wealth. Cameron subscribes to the abundance theory: the more he helps others, the better he and the business do. Employees are rewarded generously for their hard work, and Cameron always tries to do the right thing for them. When one agent had his larynx removed because of throat cancer, the company developed software that allowed him to continue working. Cameron says he cares deeply for his employees and clients and works to make sure everyone is taken care of.
“Share the wealth,” he says. “It’s the right thing to do. It’s also smart business.” In the end, Cameron ascribes his success to helping people and the ability to “zoom out” and ask how the business can stay relevant in a changing environment. He says, “I feel fortunate to be where I am. It’s a tough business.”
