Salt Lake City – The Salt Lake office of CBRE has been selected as the exclusive leasing agent for 222 South Main Street. CBRE has overseen the listing since 2008 and was awarded the opportunity to continue doing so by KBS Real Estate Investment Trust III (KBS)—the building’s new owner. Scott Wilmarth, senior vice president, and Nadia Letey, senior associate, will oversee the listing.
222 South Main is a 426,657-square-foot, class A office building located in the heart of the Central Business District. Constructed in 2009, it was Utah’s first LEED Gold certified high-rise. The building is home to two restaurants—Sonny Bryan’s and Bistro 222.
“222 is one of the most recognized high rises in downtown Salt Lake,” said Tim Helgeson, senior vice president with KBS. “As the new owner, it is our goal to ensure that the building continues to meet the needs of its tenants.”
KBS has plans to bring a variety of amenities to the building which include a fitness center with the “Fitness on Demand” system and locker rooms; a state-of-the-art, shared conference and training facility; an on-site car wash; and dry cleaning pickup and delivery service.
With the purchase of 222 South Main, KBS’ portfolio now includes three Salt Lake-based buildlings. KBS also owns Parkside, located at 215 South State Street, and Gateway Tech Center—formerly known as the Salt Lake Hardware Building—located at 155 North 400 West.
KBS Real Estate Investment Trust III is operated by KBS Capital Advisors. Based in Newport Beach, Calif.
