Tooele – Cabela’s broke ground on a new distribution center Tuesday in Tooele.
Tooele Mayor Patrick Dunlavy, Councilman Steve Pruden and Economic Development Corporation of Utah’s Randy Sant participated in the ceremony along with Cabela’s chief supply chain officer Doug Means, sr. director of distribution Kevin Fifield, director of distribution Kurt Kravchuk and 30 of the new distribution center’s employees.
The 600,000-square-foot facility will process freight and deliver products to Cabela’s consumers and is expected to begin full operations by July 2015.
Cabela’s offers a wide selection of outdoor products through its direct business and a growing number of destination retail stores. Currently, Cabela’s operates 54 stores across North America, including a 150,000-foot-store in Lehi.
“As Cabela’s continues to grow, so, too, does the need to expand the footprint of our distribution centers,” said Tommy Millner, Cabela’s chief executive officer.
