Salt Lake City – DEAL PICKLE has partnered with 30 media companies in 12 states since January. Deal Pickle provides alternative financing of media packages for retail businesses via gift certificate sales. The financing system allows retail businesses to buy media and advertising by leveraging cost of goods.
Salt Lake City – CANYONS SCHOOL DISTRICT named DENTAL SELECT as its sole provider for dental insurance benefits. Canyons School District is the newest of Utah school districts, beginning its third year of education in Cottonwood Heights, Draper, Midvale, Sandy and Alta neighborhoods.
Sandy – The SALT LAKE BOARD OF REALTORS held its annual Christmas in July event at THE ROAD HOME homeless shelter. Basic daily living necessities were given to 75 families (about 300 people, including 24 infants).
Salt Lake City – VLCM was designated an HP Managed Print Specialist, a designation that enables VLCM to invite HP printing experts to meet with its customers to help create and implement customized strategies that optimize their printing environments.
Salt Lake City – SPRING MOBILE opened its first retail locations in Minnesota and Iowa, marking the company’s entrance into the Minneapolis market. With these new locations, Spring Mobile now operates 79 retail locations in nine states.
Salt Lake City – OVERSTOCK.COM and VACATIONROOST partnered to enhance the travel offerings on O.co Travel, Overstock.com’s travel site, with the addition of ski vacation packages and the widest selection of vacation rentals available for direct booking on the web.
Salt Lake City – XMISSION now offers 1-gigabit-per-second (Gbps) connections to residential UTOPIA customers across the Wasatch Front. XMission is one of only two UTOPIA providers selected to provide 1-gigabit service. UTOPIA cities with active footprints include Murray, Midvale, West Valley City, Orem, Lindon, Payson, Perry, Brigham City, Tremonton, Centerville and Layton.
Salt Lake City – BHB CONSULTING ENGINEERS celebrated its 10-year anniversary in July.
Salt Lake City – SIRQ CONSTRUCTION put the finishing touches on the new $18 million Rocky Shores exhibit at the HOGLE ZOO. Built to resemble a cannery on the northwest coast of the United States, the exhibit features a dozen new animals, including polar bears. The project includes a 390,000-gallon viewing pool and a 1,800-cubic-foot lift station, one of the largest in Salt Lake City.
Salt Lake City – NEEDLE INC. closed a $10.5 million series B funding round, co-led by SHASTA VENTURES and REMBRANDT VENTURE PARTNERS. This most recent round of funding will be used to accelerate the adoption of the company’s social selling platform and expand its pool of brand experts and fans for its ecommerce clients.
Salt Lake City – KTGY GROUP, INC., ARCHITECTURE + PLANNING and GARBETT HOMES earned the Gold Nugget Grand Award for the Residential Project of the Year in the Detached Product category for the Solaris Collection at Daybreak in South Jordan. The homes are solar powered and geothermal.
Salt Lake City – The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) awarded SPY HOP PRODUCTIONS with its Art Works grant to expand the Sending Messages program, an online podcast of stories from incarcerated youth, to four local youth-in-custody facilities.
Salt Lake City – GPS CAPITAL MARKETS opened its first office outside of the United States in London. This office will be home to GPS Capital Markets Limited, the company’s UK subsidiary, and will operate as the primary client service center for companies throughout the European Union.
Salt Lake City – ENGLAND LOGISTICS was chosen by Food Logistics as a Top Green Provider for 2012. The Top Green Providers list was created to recognize companies in the food and beverage sector that have embraced sustainability practices as central to their operations. In turn, they play a key role in their customers’ own sustainability efforts while simultaneously helping to advance awareness throughout the supply-chain community.
Salt Lake City – Two MOUNTAINSTAR hospitals in Utah received national recognition for achieving excellence in women’s healthcare. Healthgrades recognized OGDEN REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER with the 2012 Maternity Care Excellence Award for the 10th year in a row (2003–2012). ST. MARK’S HOSPITAL earned the 2012 Women’s Health Excellence Award for the third consecutive year.
Salt Lake City – XI3 CORPORATION signed a distribution agreement with D&H DISTRIBUTING, INC. As a result, Xi3 Modular Computers will be available from DandH.com for resale by VARs, solution providers, system integrators, resellers, dealers, installers, education resellers, campus resellers, college bookstores or K–12 schools.
