Salt Lake City - FIBERSPAR CORPORATION, with the help of incentives provided through the GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (GOED), plans to create at least 276 new full-time Utah jobs with average wages in excess of 125 percent of the average county wage, including full health benefits.

Salt Lake City - PASKER, GOULD, AMES, & WEAVER ARCHITECTS was awarded Engineering News Record’s (ENR) Mountain States Best 2011 Projects Award. The Rosecrest Fire Station #123 in Herriman for Unified Fire Authority was “Best” Government/Public Building project, the Rivers Edge School for Jordan School District was “Best” K-12 School, and the Utah Career Center for Plumbers, Pipefitters, Welders & HVAC&R for Utah Mechanical Contractors Association & UA Local 140 was “Best” Small Project.

Salt Lake City - The SALT LAKE CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY website was recognized by Communication Arts magazine in the “Web Watch” category. The goal of “Web Watch” is to spotlight highly functional, influential websites that push limits and expand expectations.

South Jordan - ROSEMAN UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES dedicated its new College of Dental Medicine in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The first phase of the building features a large classroom with the latest in multimedia technology, team breakout rooms, six imaging rooms, 80 dental operatories, two wet labs, conference rooms, and student and faculty lounges.

Salt Lake City - SCIENCE APPLICATIONS INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION (SAIC) plans to expand its Utah operations by adding 200 new jobs, more than doubling the company’s Utah operations. SAIC currently has 136 employees in nine locations throughout the state.

Salt Lake City - ETAGZ, INC. received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent Office that gives eTAGZ a new patent and seven independent claims to add to its patent portfolio.

Salt Lake City - APPLE VACATIONS and VACATIONROOST partnered to launch a new ski program. The partnership will increase Apple Vacations’ current ski offering to 23 destinations across North America. The program provides consumers with a complete travel-planning solution, including air transportation, lodging, ground transportation, lift tickets, gear rentals and more.

Salt Lake City - ZAGG INC. introduced new designs of its award-winning invisibleSHIELD and ZAGGskins accessories developed specifically for the Apple iPhone 4S.

Salt Lake City - NAI GLOBAL CORPORATE SOLUTIONS was chosen by ALPHAGRAPHCS as its national real estate partner. NAI Global Corporate Solutions will assist AlphaGraphics in selecting sites for new locations, reviewing and renewing current leases, performing market analysis and providing other strategic real estate solutions.

Salt Lake City - LIFETREE CLINICAL RESEARCH expanded its in-patient capacity from 60 to 75 beds in the early-stage research unit at its 35,000-square-foot facility. The expansion represents a more than 100 percent increase in size since Lifetree Clinical Research was founded in 2003 as an eight-bed facility.

Salt Lake City - Utah’s first HEALTH INNOVATION SUMMIT was hosted by Gov. Gary R. Herbert. Utah has established itself as a national leader in health system reform thanks to innovations such as the Utah Health Insurance Exchange, the All Payer Claims Database, the Clinical Health Information Exchange, and the state’s efforts to reform the way its Medicaid program is administered, according to summit organizers.

Salt Lake City - I.T.NOW launched a new referral program that rewards current clients that refer i.t.NOW’s business services to new customers. Clients will receive a $75 gift card for their first referral, $125 for their second and $250 for every additional referral.

Salt Lake City - The SALT LAKE CHAMBER formalized a relationship with the World Bank to act as the state’s private sector liaison officer. The relationship will help businesses throughout the Intermountain West gain access to projects funded by the World Bank in developing countries.

Salt Lake City - C7 DATA CENTERS, INC. signed a multi-year collocation agreement with CHRISTOPHERSON BUSINESS TRAVEL. As part of the agreement, C7 will provide Christopherson Travel with data center space, power, bandwidth and personnel services.

Salt Lake City - Gov. Herbert convened the UTAH WOMEN’S COLLEGE TASK FORCE to raise the educational aspirations of Utah’s female population. A subcommittee of the Governor’s Education Excellence Commission, the task force is co-chaired by former Gov. Olene Walker and State Board of Regents Vice-Chair Bonnie Jean Beesley.
