Accomplishments: Anne-Marie Wright Lampropoulous’ career began in journalism and politics, where she wrote articles, speeches, position papers and press releases for publications in New York City, Boise and Salt Lake City. She worked for Senator Orrin Hatch and for the New York City Council—but when a position opened at Merit Medical that offered her the opportunity to learn and grow in a new field, she took it. She has grown with the company for 13 years and recently organized and managed the company’s first Investor Day, which attracted more than 50 institutional investors to Merit’s campus.
What she enjoys about her work: “I am constantly learning about medical challenges and breakthroughs, legal issues, public relations, patents, corporate giving, political policies, Wall Street and even the drama of office politics. It’s fun to work with all kinds of people, from executives to operations and manufacturing personnel, physicians, local and national politicians, hedge fund managers and analysts. Working at a company whose sole focus is developing products that save people’s lives is rewarding.”
Advice for young women: “Educate yourself. Believe in yourself. Become self-sufficient. Life doesn’t always turn out the way you planned. In fact, it never does. So women need to be educated and prepared for whatever life throws at them.”
